Obituary of Lola Cooper
LOLA MARIE YOUNG COOPER, age 92, passed away, Thursday, April 6 at the Francis Marion Manor in Marion, Va.
She retired from Southwestern Va. Mental Health Institute with over 30 years employment and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hugh Cooper; her parents Joseph Eustice Young & Lula Virginia Williams Young; one sister Irmalene Henderlite; two brothers, Andrew Young and Billy Young.
Survived by one daughter, Linda Cooper Sturgill (James) of Chilhowie, Va.; one son, Kenny Cooper (Susie) of Marion, Va.; one granddaughter, Sara Stilwell (Dwayne) of Dugspur, Va.; three grandsons, Eric Cooper (Mary Kay), San Antonio, TX, Brian Sturgill (Sandi), Cuyhoga Heights, Ohio and Kevin Sturgill (Delena) of Marion, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Reagan, & Fletcher Sturgill of Ohio and Brycen Sturgill and Eden Wagoner of Marion; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Cooper of Saltville, Va. and Eunice Cooper of Bluefield, Va. Several nieces and nephews and special friend Carrie Miller of Rural Retreat, Va. also survive.
Visitation will be held Saturday evening, April 8, 2017, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Graveside service at Rose Lawn Cemetery will be held Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 2 p.m. with Reverend John Graham officiating. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
