A. Bruce Russell

MARION, Va.

A. Bruce Russell age 85, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tenn.

Bruce was a good, Godly, family man. He worked for the Robinson Store in Marion before transferring to a department at the State Hospital for 18 years until it closed. He then worked at the Department of Corrections for 10 years before retiring. In his lifetime he played in many musical groups, such as Bluegrass Harmony and ­­­Cabin Creek to name a few, as well as just grabbing a guitar or mandolin and pickin’ with anyone and everyone. To know him was to love him. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his infant children of the heart; infant sister; and best friend, Robert Cale.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Wilma Hamm Russell; one daughter, Emillee Russell both of Marion, Va.; special family friends, Pat and Charlie Fowler.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, August 03, 2023 from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Freedom Tabernacle. Graveside services will follow in Resurrection Gardens, 442 Freedom Tabernacle Lane, Atkins, Va. 24311.
