Saltville, Va.
Adam Piotr Raszewski, age 71, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va.
Adam was born in the city of Reda in Poland on February 22, 1951. He met and fell head over heels in love with his soulmate, and in 1975 he married the love of his life, Urszula. Adam loved animals, he was a wonderful cook, and a gifted and passionate gardener. He spent most of his life as a commercial fisherman, traveling all over the world. In 1991, he settled with his family in Anchorage, Alaska. In his spare time, he enjoyed mushroom picking, salmon fishing, and watching Polish television – especially sports and politics. Adam and his wife were new arrivals in Virginia, moving across the street from their eldest daughter, her husband, Paul and their two children. He worshipped the woman he married, was a devoted father and loving grandfather – and is dearly missed by his family and friends.
Adam is survived by his wife, Urszula; daughters, Ashia and Justyna; son, Adam; three grandchildren, Kyland, Skylah and Saniya.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring in Poland.
