CHILHOWIE, VIRGINIA: ADELEE EPPERSON HOWELL, age 79, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, February 20, 2005 from her daughter's home in Chilhowie, Virginia. Born February 5, 1926 to the late Calvin and Etta Hopkins Blevins she was preceded in death by her first husband, June Epperson, and her second husband, Roy W. Howell. In addition to her parents and husbands she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Barney Blevins, Roland Blevins, and three sisters, Louise Lovern, Lillian Martin, and Gladys Odum. Mrs. Howell was a long time member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She worked at Baldwin's for over 20 years and later was known as the "Pillow Lady" participating in many area craft shows. Mrs. Howell is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Frank Cregger of Chilhowie, Virginia. Two sisters-in-law, Daisy Blevins of Spindale, North Carolina, and Ruth Epperson of Glennville, Georgia. One brother-in-law, Harold Epperson of Marion, Virginia. Three grandchildren, Karen and Robert Holland of Christiansburg, Virginia; Julie and Garron Smith of Arab, Alabama; and Tina Pruitt of Marion, Virginia. Six great-grandchildren, Megan Cregger, Keenan Harry, Logan LeFew, Preston LeFew, Alex Pruitt, and Addie Holland. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
