Agnes was born March 14, 1920 to Walter Jackson and Gladys Meek Hamm in Harford, Md. Her mother died in 1928. Agnes, her two brothers and three sisters were separated and went to live with various family members. One sister was adopted by a family in Baltimore; Agnes and her baby sister, Lillian, went to Sugar Grove, Va. where they grew up together. Agnes was a teacher, and taught her little sister in a one-room school. While teaching, Agnes met and fell in love with Claude Finney. Agnes and Claude married and for a time lived in the Panama Canal Zone where Claude worked in the shipyard during World War II. Later they moved to West Virginia where she became CEO of the West Virginia Water Company in St. Albans. Claude passed away in 1973. A few years after his death, she met and married Frank Cain, a family friend. They enjoyed retirement in Port Charlotte, Fla. where her sister and brother-in-law had also retired. Agnes had a caring nature and a cheerful outlook on life. She and Frank were a popular couple, entertaining often friends and neighbors at their Harbor Lake home. After Frank passed away and as time went on, she married Fred Wieland, a dear friend and excellent golfer, as well! Living to 97 years of age, she had three wonderful marriages, was a cancer survivor, and brought joy to all who knew her.
