MARION, VIRGINIA: ALBERT C. OSBORNE, age 96, passed away at his home Friday, January 20, 2011, with his wife and family at his bedside.
Born July 9, 1914, he was the son of Mary Sanders and Joshua Osborne. He was a coal miner in West Virginia for 40 plus years. He was a loving and caring man. He worked as a plumber for many years for A.C. Plank. He also worked for 6 years for Sico Oil Company. He belonged to the Red Men Lodge and the Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company. He liked to go hunting and fishing and when he was able to work in the garden. He loved all kids, most of them, called him "Grand Paw". He will be deeply missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Dora Cox Osborne; two sons, Clifton Albert Osborne and John Franklin Osborne; two sisters, Hazel Osborne and Edith Rakes Retalic; four brothers, Pete, Leonard, Robert, and Harry; several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his second wife of 29 years, Patricia S. Osborne; three daughters, Mary Texas Osborne, Inez M. Dunn and husband Joe, and Wendy Gail Lynch Odham and husband Ralph; three grandsons, Michael Ray Hehnly, John Osborne, Jr., and Joseph Dunn, Jr.; six granddaughters Stacey Tsudy and husband David, Amy Wojcik and husband Aaron, Christie Sue Osborne, Brandi Hutton Kohl and husband Mark, Katherine Elizabeth Grace Odham, and Laura Ellen Rose Odham; three great-grandsons, Tony Tsudy, Gavin Hutton, and Colby Gantert; eight great-granddaughters, Paige Heimbach, Meadow Kohl, Brooke Gantert, Brittany Osborne, Katrina Wojcik, Kiersten Dunn, and Alexis Dunn.
The family wishes to thank all the friends and neighbors who came by during this sad time. Also the Hospice of Southwest VA for their loving kindness, as well as, Dr. Turski, Dr. James McDowell, Jane, Rita, Donna, Deena, Dianna, Tommy, Susan. God bless you.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 24, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Groseclose Chapel Cemetery, Wythe County, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
