Alvin "Buckie" Hubert Shirl Keene

ATKINS, Va.

Alvin "Buckie" Hubert Shirl Keene, age 61, passed away Saturday March 5, 2022 at his home in Atkins, Virginia. 

Buckie was born on March 26, 1960 in Richlands, Virginia. He was a Pentecostal faith, a previous coal miner, and a devoted worker at Mount Rogers IDC. He enjoyed watching sports, racing, and spending time with family and friends. Buckie was a loving and caring man who had a huge heart for people. It was often said, there was no bad in Buckie. He loved his family and friends very much.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Shirl Keene and Evelyn Louise Keene; sisters, Bonnie Garrett and Margaret Wix; brothers, Alan Keene and Lee Keene.

 Buckie is survived by his partner, Crystal Call and her son Shane of Marion, Va.; daughter Kisha Keen of Raven, Va.; son James Keen of Raven, Va.; three grandchildren, Elisha Howell, Madison Yates, Jaxson Keen all of Raven, Va.; sisters, Patricia Beckner of Salem, Va.; Elizabeth "Tiny" Compton, Sharon Keen, Sarah "Punk" Sheets, Stella Mullins and husband Richard, Brenda Cole and husband Kenneth from Marion, Va.; Georgia McWilliams; brother, Luther Keen and wife Rita of Richlands, Va.; special friend, Frances Rose and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and  great nieces and nephews. 

Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 11a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Va.
