ANNE ELIZABETH BROADY
Anne passed away on August 27, 2013, in Kennewick, Washington. She was born September 11, 1925 in Marion, Virginia and the third youngest of 13 siblings born to Charles and Anna Goble. She resided in Marion and graduated from Carnegie High School. In 1944, she married Arthur Theron Broady, Sr. and continued to live in Marion raising three children; Patricia, Arthur Jr., and Johnathan.
She was a domestic worker until employed by Buster Brown in the mid sixties in Marion. Following the death of her husband in 1976, she continued to reside in Marion until she moved to Pasco, Washington in 1981, to live with her oldest son Arthur. Shortly thereafter, she was joined in Pasco by Patricia and Johnathan. Anne worked as a cook for Our Lady of Lourdes in Pasco, Washington until she retired in 1995. She was a devoted member of the Desert Springs Covenant Church in Pasco (previously known as the First Congregational Church of Pasco) since her arrival to Pasco. Anne was a friend for life for those she made friends with. Dinners at her home were always a southern feast and many enjoyed holidays around her dinner table. She was an extraordinary sports fan and was known to watch three or more sports each weekend, often at the same time. Her list of favorites included the Mariners, the Seahawks, and golfers Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. She was a huge NASCAR fan and a proud owner of a Dale Earnhardt, Sr. jacket. She later added Dale Jr, along with Jeff Gordon to her list of favorite drivers. Her favorite Mariners included Ken Griffey, Jr. and Edgar Martinez. Even as she approached her final days, she wanted to see her Mariners win one more game. When not watching sports she enjoyed the challenges of crossword puzzles. She enjoyed life as a faithful Christian, treated everyone fairly, and strongly believed in the golden rule. Even during her final months of illness, she remained strong in her faith and collected many admirers and friends. Anne was preceded in death by her husband Theron and son Johnathan.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia (James) Wright of Pasco and son Arthur of Kennewick. She is also survived by her one remaining sister Patricia Evans of Hampton, Virginia. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous extended family members.
