ASHLAND, VIRGINIA: B.W. "BUD" EDMONDS, age 73 died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Retreat Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
He was a 1957 graduate of Rich Valley High School and went on to graduate from the West Virginia Business College in 1959. Bud worked one year at Marion National Bank, followed by eighteen years of employment with Hanes Corporation in Winston-Salem and then on to work for Isotoner Corporation in New York City. He next began work for R.V. Parts Business Distributorship followed by employment with NTP R.V. Parts until retirement in 2011. Bud was a member of the Kenwood United Methodist Church in Ashland, Virginia. He proudly served as a member of the Army National Guard and the Shrine Club in Lynchburg, Virginia. Bud played in the Oriental Band, was a 32nd degree Mason and loved flying airplanes.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Atkins Edmonds of Ashland, Virginia; daughter Melanie Edmonds Titmus and husband, Scott of Richmond, Virginia; one brother, C.W. Edmonds and wife, Christine of Abingdon, Virginia; two nephews, Ross Edmonds of Blacksburg, Virginia and Anthony "Tony" Edmonds of Singapore.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Jonathan Jonas officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia with Military Rites conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667. A reception will follow at Seaver-Brown Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
