Barbara Hall

d. October 8, 2014

MARION, VIRGINIA: BARBARA HALL, age 62, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at her home in Marion. Barbara was an active lady in her family, her community and her state. She ran for state delegate, was in banking for 30 years and a real estate broker for ten years. Barbara helped so many people in Smyth and surrounding counties purchase their home. In addition to her work world, she raised her boys and loved her grandchildren. Her son, Ryan Hall, had these words for his mother: Mom you will be dearly missed forever. You were a person of incredible strength, endless energy, and unconditional love; a successful business woman, outstanding chef, aspiring angler, lover of the ocean and mountains, loving mother of four and their wives, grandmother of six, loved wife, sister of four, friend, confidant, and like a mother to many. No matter what life threw at you, you never let it get you down; you lived life to the fullest to the very last day. Your life is an example to live by, to all who were blessed to know you. I admire you and love you more than I ever fully expressed to you. I am who I am because of you, everything good inside of me you were part of, you are the spark that lit my fire. For all you taught me, it's to love and be loved is the most important. I will carry on and pass your love to my children and family. I'm sad your grandkids will not get to spend more time with you, for you to hug them and sing to them, they love you and will miss you! Life won't be the same without you, I will think of you every day! I am blessed to have had you for a Mom. Mom, I love you so much!!! I will long for the day to wrap my arms around you again!! She is survived by her husband, Ken Hall of Marion; four sons, Chris Williams of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Paul Wood and wife, Shelia, Brent Hall and wife, Kellie and Ryan Hall and wife, Chasity all of Marion, Virginia; three sisters, Patti Johnson and husband, Mike of Raleigh, North Carolina, Linda Siska and husband, Charlie of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Susan West of Raleigh, North Carolina; one brother, Bill Tidwell of Fayetteville, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Hanna Williams, Blake Hall, Clara Hall, Iris Hall, Laurel Hall, August Hall and Amber and Angel Dancy; and several nieces and nephews. At Barbara's request, there will be no funeral service. The family will receive friends Friday, October 17, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
