Barry Clay Robinson, age 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, VA.
Barry was born in Roanoke, VA to the late Sterling Rupert Robinson, Jr. and Barbara Burnett Robinson of Austinville, VA. He was a 1976 graduate of Carroll County High School and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Virginia Tech in 1980, majoring in Agriculture Education. Barry taught Vocational Agriculture and Shop for a total of nine years in Smyth County, VA, beginning at Rich Valley High School and then at Marion Junior High School. He also worked for Visador/Coffman Stairs in Marion in various managerial positions during his 20 years with the company. An avid and talented woodworker, Barry was the owner and sole proprietor of Triple R Crafts, LLC, proudly building and selling quality handcrafted furniture and customized crafts across the state of Virginia. He was a member of Royal Oak Presbyterian Church in Marion, VA.
In addition to his mother, Barry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lynn Campbell Robinson, of Rural Retreat, VA; two daughters and their spouses, Dana (Randy) Armbrister of Max Meadows, VA, and Kelly (Chris) Terry of Virginia Beach, VA; one son and his spouse, Andrew (Lindsay) Robinson of Midlothian, VA; five grandchildren, Summer and Mason Armbrister, and Cohen, Hayes, and Eli Terry; one sister, Beverly Robinson Webb of Staunton, VA; and two brothers, Burton (Penny) Robinson and Preston (Pam) Robinson, both of Woodlawn, VA.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel, 237 East Main Street, Marion VA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Royal Oak Presbyterian Church 139 West Main Street, Marion, VA with the Reverend Dr. Alan Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Rich Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 3811 Valley Road, Rich Valley, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barry’s memory to Royal Oak Presbyterian Church; 139 West Main Street, Marion, VA 24354 or to the Caring House, 2625 Pickett Road, Durham, NC 27705, which provides a home away from home for oncology patients receiving treatments at Duke Cancer Center.
