Bernice Powell

KING GEORGE, Va. Bernice “Bun” Powell, age 87, died Friday, December 2, 2016 in King George, Va. Bun retired as vice-president of production at McCoy Publishing and Masonic Supply in Richmond, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Powell Jr.; parents, Ben and Lula Guthrie; brother, Ben; sisters, Nadine and Jackie; and granddaughter, Ashlie Powell. Bun is survived by son, Zane Powell and wife, Wanda Powell; grandson Christopher Powell, all of Richmond, Va.; son, Douglas Greer of Christiansburg, Va.; one sister, Audrey “Peetie” Hartman of Salem, Va.; sister-in-law, Minnie “Sis” Guthrie of New Castle, Va.; many special nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers; Debbie Waymoth, Becky Lee, and Sheila Conley.
