SUGAR GROVE, Va.: BETTY MAE MARTIN, age 67, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va.
Betty was just the sweetest lady that loved everyone she met. She was a loving mother and nana. Betty taught her daughter how to sew as she was a very talented seamstress. She loved her life, her Lord and her family. Betty fought cancer very hard and was courageous and brave to her end on earth and beginning in Heaven. She was so selfless with so much grace. Betty Martin will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Ethel Woods Martin, and her pets, Kita, Sugar and Paco.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Tarter and husband, Bill of Speedwell, Va.; son, Stephen Anderson of Sugar Grove, Va.; sister, Judy Hall of Sugar Grove, Va.; brothers, Doug Martin of Sugar Grove, Va. and Mike Martin of Marion, Va.; two grandchildren, Jodi Ball and husband, Brandon of Abingdon, Va., and Stephen Long a student at Radford University; two great-grandsons, Collin Aker and Carson Aker; special cousin, Connie Blevins; best friend, Judy Price; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Robert Blevins officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel or anytime at the home of Kim and Bill Tarter.
