MARION, Va.
Betty Jean Ireson Rouse age 84, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Rural Retreat Care Center, Rural Retreat, Va.
Betty loved her Lord, her family, and served her community well. She had it all together. People in Marion would remember her blonde bun of hair behind the dispatchers desk when the Marion Police Department was located on Main Street. Betty passionately served in that position for 30 years, and never missed a day. Loyalty, accountability, kindness, and giving of self were wonderful qualities Betty possessed; qualities that are hard to find today. She loved her mother and those two were about inseparable for many years. Music, movies, and a million memories filled Betty’s days. Her smile, gentle way, and the smell of her perfume will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Lucille Ireson; brothers, Charles “Bunky” Lovell and Gene Lovell; aunt, Lois Repass.
Betty is survived by special nieces and nephew, Liz Lorendo of Atlanta, Ga., Kathy Peacock, Teri Johnson and husband, Mark, all of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mark Lovell of Louisville, Ky.; and many special friends.
