Betty Spriggs

MARION, VIRGINIA: BETTY JOANN PENNINGTON SPRIGGS, age 68, went to be with the Lord, September 11, 2009, surrounded by her family and close friends after a short courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 22, 1941 in Anawalt, West Virginia to the late Tom and Frances Pennington. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Spriggs, Sr. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Sadler Gillespie and husband David of Marion, Virginia, Rebecca Eller and fiancé Johnny Burkett of Marion, Virginia; one son, Henry Spriggs, Jr. of Marion, Virginia; four beautiful granddaughters, Shannon Beville and special friend Rickie Long, Bethany, Colleen, and Rocquelle Spriggs; and a very special great-grandson, Montana Lane Beville who was the love of her life; also special friends, Ronnie and Shirley Collins and her church family at Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 14, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Sage officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at Macedonia Cemetery in Chilhowie, Virginia at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church following the service.
