Betty Upchurch

CHILHOWIE, VIRGINIA: BETTY ROSE McCOY UPCHURCH, age 75, died Friday, February 28, 2014 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Virginia. She was born June 8, 1938 to the late Dillard and Ruth Neitch McCoy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ed Upchurch; two brothers, Dillard Lee "Joe" McCoy and Howard Eugene "Pete" McCoy. Betty is survived by her daughter, Kaye Brown and husband, Buford of Chihowie, Virginia; grandson, Brandon Brown and special friend, Emily Dillow; two step-grandsons, James Brown of Damascus, Virginia and Michael Brown of Chilhowie, Virginia; four step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; brother-in-law, Kenneth Upchurch of Damascus, Virginia; sister-in-law, Louise Upchurch Blevins of Bristol, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend David Neitch officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Chilhowie, Virginia. The family will receive friends, Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
