Brenda Barker Young age 81, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at Abingdon Health & Rehab, Abingdon, Va.

Brenda was born in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Ora & Laura Brooks Barker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy, Calvin and Carson Barker; sister, Frances Barker Perkins; and granddaughter, Lainey Young.

Brenda is survived by her husband Jerry Young; son Eric Young (Robin); and grandchildren Emeri Young, Rowan Young and Hudson Young; several nieces and nephews and their families.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 11 a.m. until 12 noon. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon with Pastor Tim Boyette and Pastor Paul Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 7614 Troutdale Road, Troutdale VA.
