MARION, VIRGINIA: BUDDY T. HAGA, age 72, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at his home in Marion, Virginia. He was born April 27, 1938 in Whitetop, Virginia (Grayson County) to the late James V. and Clyde Gamble Haga. Mr. Haga was an active member, Deacon, member of the Board of Trustees and retired Sunday School Director at Falling Water Baptist Church. He had been extremely active in working with the youth of the church. He was a gifted self-employed Master Carpenter and Painter by trade and used his gifts generously working with the woodwork in the church library, minister's office and the cabinet for the church sound system. Mr. Haga enjoyed his love of bluegrass, bluegrass gospel and gospel music. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and especially loved being a great-grandfather to his great-granddaughter. He also held a great love for his church family and his many, many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Harry H. Haga, Sr. and wife, Tessie, Kyle Haga, Emory E. Haga, Jessie D. Haga and Roger C. Haga; one sister, Nina Belle Gullion. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Polly Pafford Haga of Marion, Virginia; two sons and daughter-in-law, Eddie D. and Lori Haga and James D. Haga all of Marion, Virginia; three brothers, James B. Haga and wife, Tomie of Rockville, Maryland, Mack Haga and wife, Lois of Lansing, North Carolina and Telsie Haga and wife, Mary of Bedford, Virginia; a special brother-in-law, Joe Pafford of Glade Spring, Virginia; four sisters-in-law, Helen Haga Deathridge, Della Haga, Yvonne Haga and Grace Haga; three grandchildren, Treemont Christopher Haga, Cayla Christine Haga and Allison Nicole Haga; one great-granddaughter, Abigail Jane Rabara; lots of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Jerry Creasy and Reverend Neville Mozingo officiating. Private burial will be in Hutton Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Falling Water Baptist Church. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
