Nebo, Virginia
Byron E. Kegley, age 82, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at his home.
He was born August 1, 1942 in Nebo, Virginia to the late Tom and Mallie Kegley.
Byron devoted his entire life to his family, never failing to show them how much he loved and cared for them. He was a hard-working man who spent his life tending to his farm surrounding his childhood home.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons Kenneth Kegley and Butch DeWilde as well as several siblings.
His memory will be cherished by his wife, Barbara Kegley; son Wilbur DeWilde and wife Violet; daughters Agnes Wright and husband Jonny and Karen DeBusk and husband Ben; grandchildren: Josh DeWilde, Dakota DeWilde, Ashton Bresnock (Christian), Preston DeWilde, and Cami DeBusk; special family friend, Mack Spainhour; siblings, Alma, Ann, Joe, Tommy, and Rosemary; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 20, 2024 from 1 until 3 p.m. at New Zion Church, 3171 Old Rich Valley Road, Ceres, VA 24318. Graveside services will begin at 3 p.m. in the church cemetery with Mack Spainhour officiating.
