Carl Willard Hamm age 80, passed away Monday, March 27, 2023 at Mountain Laurel Rehab & Nursing, Rural Retreat, Va.

Carl was a good man, loving husband, dad and friend to many. He was a proud Air Force veteran and learned to fly while serving. After Carl left the military, he flew privately after receiving his certification from the prestigious Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Institute. He later became the area FAA representative for new pilots and license renewals. Carl later began selling real estate where he made many friends. He provided well for his wife, Lana and son, Jason; and he enjoyed his family. Carl will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lana Pickle Hamm; parents, Walter Ray and Ruby Marie Hamm; sisters, Evelyn, Louise, and Virginia; brothers, Leonard, Edward and Richard.

Carl is survived by his son, Jason of Rural Retreat, Va.; sister, Sally; brother, Kenneth; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 12. p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Highway 11, Groseclose, VA with Military Rites conducted by The U.S. Air Force Funeral Honors Guard and Francis Marion VFW Post #4667.
