ATKINS, Va: Carolyn (Sue) Bryant, best known as “Nannie,” age 61, of Atkins, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 17, 2015.
She was born on July 7, 1954 in Elliston, VA to the late Gene and Elsie Mae Palmer Hooker. Mom loved the outdoors, as walking by the river was certainly a joy to her. She was definitely country at heart! Music and shopping with friends was also at the top of her list, and she certainly loved her shoes, however, her favorite past time was most definitely eating Cheetos and drinking Dr. Pepper!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Jo Hooker; and sister, Dottie Hooker Hatcher.
Family remaining to cherish her memory include her 2 son’s, Bobby Blevins and wife, Sandy, of Atkins, and Terry (T.J.) Bryant and wife, Denise of Saltville; one daughter, Angela Blevins Johnson, of Marion; 2 sisters, Patsy Waldron, of Elliston, Va. and Mildred Boone, of Salem, Va..; 2 brothers, Ronnie Hooker and Jerry Hooker; 6 grandchildren, McKinsley Blevins, Maddy Blevins, McKayden Johnson, McKylee Johnson, Claire (Bear) Bryant and Keegan Blevins; granddog, Rylee; and special friends, Martha Warren, Nancy Taylor and Katrina Carlton.
Memorial services to honor Ms. Bryant’s life will be conducted on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Friends Community Church, in Saltville, with Pastor Mike Maiden officiating.
