Charlene Blevins

Charlene R. Blevins age 85, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025 at Mountain Valley Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice House, Dobson, N.C.

Charlene was born in Smyth County, Va. to the late Silas B. Hoffman and Ruby D. Hoffman. She lived most of her life in the Whitetop – Troutdale area and a few years in New Jersey in the early 1960’s. She attended the Konnarock Lutheran Girls School and graduated from Konnarock High School Class of 1956. She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Konnarock, Virginia. She worked several years as a CNA in the home health care field. She enjoyed sewing, puzzles, and talking to people. Charlene never met a stranger. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Connie S. Hoffman; brothers, Lewis Hoffman (Linda) and Kenneth Hoffman (Kathy).

Charlene is survived by her husband of 64 years, Arvey Blevins; daughter, Sherri Crabbe (John); sons, Thomas Blevins (Mayme Peery) and Curtis Blevins (Sue); grandchildren, Sasha Greer and Steven Greer (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Weston and Avalynn Greer; several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families; and her furry friend, Rowdy. 

Special thanks go out to the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice and the radiation staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, Dobson, NC or Rugby Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mouth of Wilson, Va.
