RICH VALLEY VIRGINIA: CHARLES MEADE CAMPBELL passed away peacefully June 8th 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Gwyn Campbell. Born August 24, 1928 he was the son of the late James Arthur and Margaret Buchanan Campbell Working the majority of his life farming and trucking he had retired and lived in Montvale VA He was a member of the Rich Valley Presbyterian Church. He is survived by three sons; Tom and Kim Ratliff Campbell, Chilhowie Virginia, Jim and Jane Leonard Campbell, Montvale Virginia and Eddie Campbell, Goodview Virginia, three daughters; Cathy and Steve Parker, Roanoke Virginia, Nancy and Terry Hawthorne, Chilhowie Virginia, and Sarah and Sam Cassell, Chilhowie, Virginia. He was affectionately known as "Grandad" to fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Tommy and wife Kimberly Campbell, James and Jonathan Campbell, , Joseph and Justin Campbell, , Dustin, Logan and Emily Parker, Sarah Catherine and Stephen Hawthorne, Ashley Crabtree Grindstaff and husband Ben, Laura Crabtree Nunley and husband Chase, Brandon Cassell, Trevor Cassell and wife Shaye. Great grandchildren Joshua, Kayleigh and Lucian Campbell, Isaac Cassell, and Ethan Nunley Other survivors include; sisters in law Madeline Pearson, Roanoke VA, Mary "Buzz" Campbell, Chilhowie, Virginia, Imogene Campbell, Glade Spring, Virginia, June Gwyn Wyomissing, Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday June 12, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Rich Valley Presbyterian Church with Pastor J. Kenneth Rogers, Rev. Neville Mozingo and Rev. William F. Charles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Campbell's body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends Friday, June 11, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Seaver-Brown Funeral Service Chapel, Marion Virginia. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Rich Valley Presbyterian Church c/o Hal Campbell, treasurer, 3834 Valley Road, Saltville Virginia 24370; Montvale Presbyterian Church, 1075 Dewey Road, Montvale, Virginia 24122; or Saltville Rescue Squad, Rich Valley Station Drawer D, Saltville, Virginia 24370.
