CHARLES MOORE HESTER, age 71, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at his home in Marion, Virginia. Born September 13, 1933 to the late Gaylord and Iris Robinson Hester, he was a life long resident of Smyth County, Virginia, and of the Baptist Faith. Charlie had worked for over 20 years at the Par-Gas Company, and then later at the Sheriff's office and the Marion Redevelopment and Housing Authority. He loved raising horses and Blue-Grass and Gospel music having been a member of several different singing groups. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Hester. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Blevins Hester of Marion, Virginia; One son and daughter-in-law, Charles William and Laurie Hester of Marion, Virginia; One sister, Edna Tibbs of Glade Spring, Virginia; Two step-daughters, Brenda Blevins Woods of Marion, Virginia, and Sharon Combs of Rural Retreat, Virginia; and One step-son, Harold Gene Blevins of Marion, Virginia. Five step-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, Tori and Logan, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 29, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Sam Slemp, Rev. Kenny Gilbert, and Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2005 at 12:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
