MOUTH OF WILSON, Va.
Charles March Kiser, age 90, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 at the Select Specialty Hospital of Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tenn.
March was born on March 7, 1931 to the late Charlie Cleveland Kiser and Mary Young Kiser. He attended Virginia Carolina school and Emory & Henry College. March was employed as a draftsman at Sprague Electric Company in Lansing, N.C. for 28 years. He was most proud of the fact that he was enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as Military Police at Sandia Base, N.M. and Killeen Base, Tx. during the Korean War. March was happiest when he was outdoors. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, and basketball. His favorite t.v. show was Mountain Men. March was thoughtful before speaking, never complained, and was the “eternal optimist”. He was the anchor for his family, and he will be sorely missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife his wife of 60 years, LaVerne Spencer Kiser.
March is survived by his daughters, Rachel Kiser Fuller of Marion, Va., Elizabeth Kiser Brown and husband, Sherman of Elk Creek, Va.; son, Charles William Kiser and wife, Melissa of Salem, Va.; grandchildren, Mary Alex Phetterplace and husband, Will of Newport, N.C., Blake Brown and fiancée, Jasmine Brannon of Wytheville, Va., Will Kiser of Salem, Va., Tyler Brown and wife, Stephanie of Elk Creek, Va., Shannon Brown and wife, Naomi of Killeen, Tx.; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation for the assistance provided by neighbors, caregivers, extended family, and all who came to his aid in his later years. Special thanks to his caregiver, Kay Trivett and his niece and farming partner, Evalynn Halsey
