Charles Russell

MARION, VIRGINIA: CHARLES P. RUSSELL, age 86, died Saturday, August 12, 2006 in Smyth County Community Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Air Force and was a lifetime member of Francis Marion V.F.W. Post#4667. He had been employed for many years by Virginia House Furniture and Brunswick Corporation. Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Charles M. and Ola Mae Lundy Russell, two sisters, Louise Gilbert and Christine Russell, one brother, James M. Russell, and two half-brothers, Frank and Howard Russell. He is survived by one sister, Lillian M. Sexton of Marion, Virginia; One nephew, Darryl Murray of Roanoke, Virginia; One niece Donna Vernon and husband, Dennis of Marion, Virginia. Several great-nieces and nephews, and several great-great-nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Marion, Virginia where military rites will be conducted by Francis Marion V.F.W. Post #4667. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
