MARION, VIRGINIA: Clara Nell White Estep died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in Marion, Virginia. She was born on October 13, 1915 in Carter Siding, Michigan to Andrew James White and Laura Peterson White. She graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School in Kingsport, Tennessee, where she grew up, and from Marion College. She was a bookkeeper until her retirement, and managed her husband's service station during World War II while he was in the Army. Mrs. Estep was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Marion for over three quarters of a century.
Mrs. Estep was predeceased by her husband, Lanson Estep, and a son, Philip Estep, both of Marion, by two brothers, James A. White of Kingsport and Ole White of Benzie County, Michigan, and by two sisters, Esther Morse of Benzie County and Jane Nelson of Lake Ann, Michigan.
She is survived by four children, James Estep of Jonas Ridge, NC; Robert Estep of Rural Retreat, VA; Sue Morris of Port Charlotte, FL; and Carol Thomas of Abingdon, VA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Bansemer officiating. A reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the service. Private burial will be held in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
