Clarence Dale Kirk, age 90 passed away Monday, August 12, 2024 in Gainesville, Georgia.
Born November 30, 1933 in Smyth County, Va., Dale was the son of the late Carl F. Kirk and Mary Pearl Kirk of Smyth County, Virginia. In his youth he resided in Sugar Grove, VA and attended Sugar Grove High School. Dale enlisted in the army where he served overseas in Europe. He returned to Virginia and attended East Tennessee State University under the GI Bill, receiving his BS is Business Administration. He met his wife Jean while she attended Marion College. Dale became a manager at F. W. Woolworth and later Woolco, and helped run stores in multiple locations throughout the Southeast prior to settling with his family in Gainesville, GA, where he and his wife became involved in real estate, working together at Northside Realty. In his retirement Dale was known to enjoy keeping active with his real estate holdings. He enjoyed history and was an avid researcher of his family genealogy. He was a member of Liberty Bible Church in Gainesville, Ga.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Kirk of Gainesville, Ga; and daughter, Patricia Kirk of Jacksonville, Fla.
Dale is survived by his son William Dale Kirk (Ashley); two grandchildren, Dylan and Jackson Kirk; brother Dean Kirk.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Kirk Family Cemetery, Sugar Grove, VA with Blake Frazier officiating.
