GROSECLOSE, VIRGINIA: CORDIA SNAVELY BEAR, age 82, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 in Indian Path Medical Center, Kingsport, Tennessee. Mrs. Bear was a life long member of the Fulton United Methodist Church, having served as church secretary for 45 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grand mother with a host of family and friends. She retired from Francis Marion Manor with over 25 years of dedicated service. She was the widow of Charles Everett "Top" Bear. She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Joan Minnick of Bristol, Virginia, Becky Langston, and Ellen and Tom Tilson; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Karen Bear all of Rural Retreat, Virginia; one brother, Joseph Snavely of Marion, Virginia; eleven grandchildren, Scott and B. J. Bear, Chris, Kim, and Ben Langston, Michael Minnick, Emily and Katie Tilson, Ronald, Heath, and Travis Puckett; sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fulton United Methodist Church in Groseclose, Virginia with Pastor RuthAnn Henley and Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat, Virginia. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service. The family will receive friends Friday evening, December 21, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
