Daniel Blevins

ATKINS, VIRGINIA: DANIEL "DANNY" BLEVINS, age 56, died Friday, December 29, 2006 in University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, Virginia. He was a 1968 graduate of Chilhowie High School. After graduation he joined the United States Army, June 24, 1968, where he served on active duty until 1979 when he transferred to the Army Reserve where he was Unit Administrator at the Reserve Center in Marion, Virginia until his retirement in 2005. Danny was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He is survived by his wife, Donna Bise Blevins of Atkins, Virginia; One daughter, Allyson Blevins Bentley and husband, Michael of Atkins, Virginia; One son, Eric Daniel Blevins and wife, Lisa of Chilhowie, Virginia. His parents, Eugene and Ola Blevins of Chilhowie, Virginia; Two sisters, Nina Heath and husband, Ronnie and Sharon Owens all of Glade Spring, Virginia; Two brothers, Roy Blevins and wife, Betty and Gary Blevins all of Chilhowie, Virginia; Two grandsons, Logan Blevins and Jaden Creasy; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Adam Wilcox and a special friend, Pete Plante also survive. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 5, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating where military rites will be conducted by 2174th GSU U.S. Army Reserve, Salem, Virginia. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
