MARION, VIRGINIA: DAVID LYNN MABE, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Beloved husband of Sharon Kegley Mabe, formerly of Wytheville, VA. Father of Ryan Kegley Mabe (wife Heather Kay Brindley). Grandfather of Mickayla, Dakota and Hunter Mabe. Brother of Carolyn Thompson (husband Tommy) of Sugar Grove, VA. Uncle of Rhonda Reed and Suzanne Thompson. Nephew of Bessie Mabe Largen of Woodlawn, VA. Son of the late Thelma Wassum and John Martin Mabe. A native of Sugar Grove, VA, a resident of Covington, LA for the past 17 years. Mr. Mabe ranked in the top ten percent of his VA Tech class in 1969. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in Viet Nam; then he completed his MBA from Rollins College in Winter Park. He worked in the medical field for over thirty years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Seaver-Brown Funeral Service, 237 East Main St., Marion, VA 24354 (www.seaverbrown.com) for a service on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Kenny Price officiating. Visitation at Seaver-Brown from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Sugar Grove, VA with Military Rites conducted by Marion VFW Post #4667. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society, 2605 River Road, New Orleans, LA 70121-4106 (www.cancer.org/Involved) or to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231(www.heart.org/HEARTORG/Giving/Giving) or to a Veteran's organization of your choice.
