MARION, Va: DAVID EUGENE WIDENER, age 58, died Friday, December 4, 2015 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va.
David loved his family dearly. His children and grandchildren were very dear to him. David was a protector of his country, his family and his friends. He is now with the love of his live and his soul mate. As a Papaw and Nana, both David and Bobby Jean went above and beyond.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobby Jean Widener; infant daughter, Christina Lynn Widener; father, Julian David Widener and step-father Elwood Naimaster.
David is survived by three daughters, Johanna Mitchell Ferley and husband, Mark, Latasha Kirk and fiancé John Hess, all of Marion, Va. and Nikeya Harris and husband, Kenny of Saltville, Va.; one son, Joshua Widener of Va.; mother, Edna Lucille Naimaster and step-mother, Betty Widener; four sisters, Malissa Yingling and husband Mike, Janet Hughes and husband, Jimmy, Tracy Thomas and husband Jonathan, Lisa Widener and husband, Gunther; three brothers, Darryl Widener and wife, Angie, Larry Widener and Fredrick Naimaster; grandchildren, Breonna, Jasmine, Jade, Kally, Kenneth Jr., Brooke and Bella; special nieces and nephews, Katrina Frye, Travis Frye, Danielle Frye, Zachary Frye, Carissa Yingling and Alexa Yingling, LaDona Green, Brittney Pennington, Carrie Louthen, Ed Louthen, Jr., as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. Special friends, Gus and Shannon; and loving pets, Pepper, the dog and Alice, the cat also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Mike Sage officiating. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, from 6 p.m. until the time of service.
