MARION, Va.
Debra Jean Ellis, age 57, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 17, 2017 at her home with her children by her side.
Debra was born March 16, 1960 in Danville, Va. to the late Bobby and Myrtle Wilson. She lived most of her life in Marion, Va., serving the community working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Debra is survived by her two beloved sons, Tom Dooley and wife, Amy of Abingdon, Va., and James Ellis, Jr. of Marion, Va.; two grandsons, Levi and Oliver Dooley; two sisters, Carolyn Wilson of Danville, Va., and Rhonda Haymore of Lynchburg, Va.; and four nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
At Debra’s request, she will be cremated and her ashes will be scattered by her sons in a private ceremony at a later date.
