MARION, Va.
Delba Dear Lawson Slagle, age 92, widow of Fred W. Slagle, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, Va.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, Delba was also preceded in death by her son, Fred Gayle Slagle; parents, Blair E. Lawson and Hattie Mae Buchanan Lawson; five siblings, Wick, Happy, Dixie, Penny, and Lillian; and son-in-law, Gregory Jones.
She is survived by one daughter, Deborah S. Jones of Marion, Va.; daughter-in-law, Lori Slagle of Johnson City, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Ashley Andrews and husband, Jeremy of Monroe, La.; Keith Jones and wife, Hannah of Bristol, Va. and Haley Slagle, of Johnson City, Tenn.; one brother and sister-in-law, Sherman and Nancy Lawson of Clarksville, Tenn.; five great-grandchildren; Lawson Thompson, Hailey, Mabrie and Samuel Andrews and Chloe Jones; several nieces and nephews, who she loved like her own and a host of other family and special friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Brother Ronnie Thompson officiating. A committal service will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Va.
