Della Rowe

CHILHOWIE, VIRGINIA: DELLA F. JONES ROWE, age 94, widow of George Rowe, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Valley Health Care Center. She was born November 14, 1913, the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Lydia D. Jones, and was a native of Grayson County, Virginia. Della professed a hope in Christ back in the 1930's, was baptized and joined the Helton Valley Baptist Church. She moved to Richmond, Virginia, later and moved her membership to Richmond, Virginia. She had been a faithful member of the Open Door Baptist Church for a number of years. Della liked to minister to the shut in's all around her and will be missed. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee, Walter, and Fred Jones; and four sisters, Florence Sadler, Dora Price, Minnie Oaden, and Mae Hardway. She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Rowe of Tampa, Florida, and Irvin Rowe of Richmond, Virginia; two grandchildren, Jamie Rowe of Tampa, Florida, and Shanna Rowe Meeks of Mechanicsville, Virginia; and three great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel in Marion, Virginia with Reverend Rex Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Haw Orchard Cemetery in Grayson County, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
