MARION, VIRGINIA: DIXIE LEE JACKSON, age 74, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee.
Dixie was born May 5, 1940 in Wythe County, Virginia to the late Delmas Lee and Mattie Hawkins Jackson. "Dickie" or Dix as she was lovingly called by the children, often said she never really needed any children of her own, because she had helped raise so many. Family was everything to Dixie. Ms. Jackson was more than just a sweet lady. She was a true woman of God who deeply loved her Lord. She will be missed as much as she was loved. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Rodney Jackson, Claudie Jackson, Robert "Sonny" Jackson and Delmas "Randy" Jackson; and her sister, Mildred Jackson Littlejohn Hall.
Dixie is survived by her brother Mike Jackson and wife, Brenda; niece/daughter, Dixie Miller and husband, Mike all of Marion, Virginia; nephews/sons, Ben Jackson and wife, Angela of Woodlawn, Virginia, J.B. "Chip" Littlejohn, Jr. of Waynesboro, Virginia and Delmas Randolph "Squeaky" Jackson, Jr. of Marion, Virginia as well as host of and many generations of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Robin Turner officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Burial will be private.
