MARION, Va.

Doctor Brown "Doc" Odham, age 82 passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at Johnson City Medical Center.

Doc was born May 12, 1935 in Smyth County, Va. to the late Alvin Richard and Susie Stevenson Odham. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army, who honorably served his country during World War II. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Doc will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Virginia Carol Reedy Odham; two sisters, Linda DeHart and Betty Odham; and his beloved walking companion, his dog Tyson.

Doc is survived by four daughters, Carolyn S. Odham of Marion, Va., Claudette Yonts and husband, Fred of Groseclose, Va., Kim Huffman and husband, Eric, and Cindy Newman and husband, Jack, all of Marion, Va.; sister, Arlene Shanks and husband, John of Jonesborough, Tenn.; brothers, Richard Odum and wife, Alene of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., John Everett Odum of Eufaula, Ala., and Raymond Odham of Henderson, Nev.; grandchildren, Michael Odham and fiancée, Kim Coe of Louisville, Ky., Morgan Short and husband, Mike of Roanoke, Va., Megan Hartsell and fiancé, Charlie Norris of Knoxville, Tenn., Dakota Huffman, Sabrina Huffman, and Ariel Huffman, all of Marion, Va.; step-grandchildren, Candace Osborne of Bristol, Tenn., Jordan Yonts of Sugar Grove, Va., and Chris Anderson of Roanoke, Va.; great-grandchildren, Aydin, Kobi and Patrick; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special cousin, Nancy Anders; and numerous in-laws.
