MARION VIRGINIA; DONALD STANULIS, age 68 passed away at his home Friday, July 1, 2005. Mr. Stanulis was born in West Point, Virginia to the late George and Josephine Elinski Stanulis. Mr. Stanulis received a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering in 1959 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He was an inventor and held two U.S. Patents. He also was an avid golfer. He worked for Brunswick Corporation for 30 years and continued to work for Marion Composites until he retired in 2002. He was a faithful member since 1966 of St. John's Catholic Church, Marion, Virginia.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Umberger Stanulis and his four daughters Susan Carole Andersen and Elizabeth Skilling, both of Richmond, Virginia; Catherine Ballance of Baltimore, Maryland and Sandra Testerman of Knoxville, Tennessee. Mr. Stanulis is survived by one brother, James Stanulis of Virginia Beach, Virginia. His six grandchildren, Katherine Skilling, Byron Ballance, Stuart Ballance, David Ballance, George Testerman and Caroline Testerman and seven nieces and nephews also survive.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marion, Virginia with Father Paul Maier officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2005 at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Virginia.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to St. John's Catholic Church, 124 Park Boulevard, Marion, Virginia 24354
