MARION, Va.: Donna Houck Compton, age 71 of Marion, Va. formerly of Ceres, Va. died Thursday, June 9, 2016.
Donna was a huge advocate for the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. She was former president of the Ceres Alumni Association and remained on their Board of Directors. She was a graduate of King College and held a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Administration. Above all, Donna was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George T. and Dorothy Hubble Houck; niece, Greta B. Houck; and nephew Todd T. Houck.
Donna is survived by her daughters, Melissa Thompson and husband, Joe of Marion, Va. and Beth Stover and husband, Chris of Fredericksburg, Va.; grandchildren, Crystal Thompson, Adam Thompson, Stacy Hall, all of Marion, Va., Dawson Stover and Gavin Stover of Fredericksburg, Va.; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Chloe, Calvin and Stephen; brothers, Ronnie Houck, Edd Houck and wife, Dana; treasured sister-in-law, Dorothy Houck, all of Fredericksburg, Va.; nephew Russell Houck; niece, Rhonda Houck; treasured friends, Tonya Bauer and Brenda Blevins; and numerous great-nieces.
Per Donna’s wishes, the family will honor her life in a private graveside service. The Ceres Alumni Association will hold a community celebration of Donna’s life at a later date.
