Donna Bell Hoffman age 86, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Donna, better known as “Nanna”, was an avid golfer just as much as she was a gardener and landscaper. Aside from being a loving mother, her true calling was guiding and encouraging the young on the importance of education. In fact, she dedicated her entire life doing so working for Smyth County Public Schools as an elementary teacher and Wythe County Public Schools as a supervisor. In her later years she served as assistant principle at Marion Primary. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Margaret Barton; sister, Mary Glenn Burton; brothers, Robert Barton and John Barton; husband, Robert L. Hoffman.
Donna is survived by sons, Lance Hoffman and Donald Hoffman; grandchildren, Ashleigh Hoffman and Robert G. Hoffman; several nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends.
Family will receive friends, Monday, March 4, 2024 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel 237 East Main St. Marion, VA 24354. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday March 5, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Grant Cemetery, Grant Va. with Blake Frazier officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
