MARION, Va.
Donna Mae Harnisch Rodgers, age 74, died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 3, 1942 in Chicago Heights, Ill. to the late Elvin and Minnie Lorenz Harnisch. Donna was a member of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church where she fulfilled her love of singing as a member of the choir. She was also a very crafty person who enjoyed quilting, especially for her family. Donna cared for everyone as was evident in the multiple charities she donated to. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Thomas Hilker Rodgers; and brother, James Harnisch.
Donna is survived by two daughters, Lori Haga and husband, Eddie of Marion, Va. and Anisa Claffey and husband, Brian of Chesapeake, Va.; son, David Rodgers and wife, Theresa of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren, Treemont Haga, Cayla Haga, Bridgette Rodgers, Gabriella Rodgers and Ian Royce; great-granddaughter, Charli Royce; special friend, Anna Crabtree; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Bansemer officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
