Dorothy Lee "Dot" Blevins

MARION, Va.

Dorothy Lee "Dot" Blevins, age 91, left this world on April 28th 2022 at the age of 91, at home and surrounded by her family.

Dot was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was born in 1930 to parents Harold and Ethel Mahan in Alfonso, Virginia. She was the middle child of 7, having 3 older, and 3 younger brothers. Dot later went on to live in Richmond, raise a family in Fairfax and Marion, and spent the rest of her life in Bristol, Virginia. Dot was a life-long Christian, she loved reading, feeding her family, traveling, tending to her garden, all children near and far, but especially her grandchildren and great/great grandchildren. She was a talented quilt maker and crafter, and beyond a doubt made the best biscuits on this earth. She adored the color purple, bird watching, and studying the Bible to be closer with God. She was kind, forgiving, and always there to lend a hand when anyone was in need. All of this she passed on to her family, and those of us lucky enough to call her friend. To say she will be missed is an understatement, but her kindness will live on through the family she built.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Blevins; sons, Samuel Blevins and Michael Blevins; and all 6 of her siblings.

Dot is survived by three daughters, Linda Dean, Susan Blevins and Brenda Blevins; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Marion Baptist Church, 1258 North Main Street, Marion, VA 24354 with the Reverend Dr. Charles Stewart officiating.
