ABINGDON, Va.
Dorothy Lucille Heath Olinger, age 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior a few minutes before midnight on Friday, January 27, 2017, at Johnston Memorial Hospital with her daughter by her side. She was born in Smyth Co., Va. on March 14, 1930, to the late Jim and Lilly Mae Heath. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Dan W. Olinger and their son, Jeff Olinger. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Tzania Hope Heath, Louise Pickle of Saltville, Va., Mabel Price of Richmond, Va. And Carol Able of Abingdon, Va.; and three brothers, Wayne Heath and Ted Heath of Hopewell, Va., and Stanley Heath of Saltville, Va.
She is survived by her daughter, Bridgette Lynette Smith and husband, David of Abingdon, Va.; daughter-in-law, Reba Olinger of Saltville, Va.; grandchildren, Brenta Gerasimova of Bristol, Va. and Jay Olinger of Saltville, Va; two great-grandsons, Dmitri Gerasimova of Knoxville, Tenn. and Damyen Olinger of Saltville, Va.; one sister, Zella McCray (Paul) of Cary, N.C.; and two brothers, Don Heath (Dorothy) of Saltville, Va. and Jack Heath (Ann) of Bridgeton, N.J.
A memorial service will be conducted in the Mausoleum at Mt. Rose Cemetery, Glade Spring, Va., on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 2 pm with Rev. Mike Bowers officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 207 N. Boone St, Ste. 1500, Johnson City, Tenn. 37861.
