Earl Ward

Earl Vester Ward, 93, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 18, 2005 at his home in Marion, Virginia. Born on March 23, 1912 in Smyth County, Virginia, he was son of the late Ambrose J. and Essie Mae Harris Ward and was preceded in death by his wife, Okie Mae Tilson Ward and a son, Earl William Ward. Surviving are four daughters, Lorena W. Tilson of Marion, Virginia; Mary W. Ferguson and husband, Jim of Rural Retreat, Virginia; Willena W. Pruitt and husband, John of Marion, Virginia; and Martha W. Perkins of Wytheville, Virginia; Two sons, Marvin Glenn Ward and Harvey Lynn Ward both of Marion, Virginia.; two sisters, Winnie Sherwood of Marion, Virginia and Celia Adams of Winter Haven Florida; one brother, Scott Ward of Marion, Virginia. Twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Fonzo Randolph officiating. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Rowland Creek Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the services at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
