Edith Farris age 90, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in Belmont, Miss.

Edith was just an amazing human being. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, sister and friend. Edith was a selfless lady who loved the Lord and made sure all of His children were fed – well fed; rolls, cakes, you name it and she could whip up something from nothing in just a minute. When Edith wasn’t with family or working in the kitchen, she loved to write poems and songs. Her kind and gentle way will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Pearl Crewey; brothers, Claude, Marvin and David.

Edith is survived by her husband of almost 72 years, Walter Farris of Belmont, Miss.; daughter, Darlene Hickman and husband, Rick of Knoxville, Tenn.; sons, Dennis Farris and wife, Linda of Marion, Va., Jeff Farris and wife, Rhonda of Belmont, Miss., Todd Farris and wife, Melody of Big Stone Gap, Va.; sisters, Louise Thompson and husband, Bill of Marion, Va., Nancy Farris and husband, Earl of Kingsport, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Wassum Valley Baptist Church, 349 Church Hill Road, Marion, Va. 24354 with Pastor Charles Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Wassum Valley Cemetery.
