MARION, VIRGINIA: EDITH F. STUMP, age 88, widow of George H. Stump, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at her home in Marion, Virginia.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sybil Stump; three sisters, Virginia Dunford , Alice Brooks and Clara Bell Morrison; four brothers, Rader, Howard, Garland, and Talmage Fortner.
She is survived by one brother, Sam Fortner of Marion, Virginia; four nieces, Katherine Ann Carr of Ellicott City, Maryland, Phyllis Falland of Mt. Airy, Maryland, Judy Testerman and husband, J.C. of Marion, Virginia, and Sharon Ogburn of Roanoke, Virginia; three nephews, Claude Brooks, Jr., of Wytheville, Virginia, , Gene Huff of Chilhowie, Virginia, and Conley Dunford, Jr., of Glen Burnie, Maryland; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at
Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Mike Teague officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Bristol, Tennessee. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
