Edna Ernest, age 93, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlow and Ada Reedy; brother, Bob Reedy; sisters, Maxine Hitchcock and Irene Haga.
Edna is survived by her sister, Helen Sturgill of Culpeper, Va.; sister-in-law, Harriet Reedy of Ocala, Fla.; daughter, Carol Martin of Chilhowie, Va.; sons, Chuck Ernest (Brenda) of Greensboro, N.C., Larry Ernest of Dickinson, N.D. and David Ernest (Cassandra) of Medford, Ore.; grandchildren, Stephanie Eddy (Cecilee), Jason Ernest, Carly Jones (Jason), Alissa Knight and Gayle Moore; great-grandchildren, Bryan Thompson, Nicole Andrews, Chris Wright, Bailey Wright, Cecilia Jones, Jason Jones, Lindsey Ernest, Dylin Knight, Alex Knight, Jonathan Knight, Evin Knight and Stella Ernest; great-great-grandchildren, Samantha Thompson, Caroline Andrews, Scarlett Arnold, Jesse Arnold and Charlie Wright; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, 237 East Main Street, Marion, Va. with Pastor Natalie Justice officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, 4410 Lee Highway, Marion, Va. The family will receive friends Friday, April 23, 2021 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Family and friends are asked to follow the COVID-19 Safety & Social Distancing Guidelines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, Attention: Treasurer, 720 Grace Street, Marion VA 24354.
