MARION, VIRGINIA: EDNA ALBERTA WIDENER, age 84, quietly passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2010 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Virginia.
She was born March 3, 1926 in Washington County, Virginia to the late Lacy and Frona Warden Widener.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her sisters, Rose Doyle, Cleatis Widener, Golden Buck and Pauline Jones; her brothers, Hobert Widener, Herman Widener, Buford Widener and Charles Widener; and a special sister-in-law, Evelyn G. Widener.
Alberta is survived by one brother, Gordon Widener of Marion, Virginia, whose love and devotion made her last years a pleasant journey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews to whom she was like a second mother. She was greatly loved by each and every one of them.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
