MARION, VIRGINIA: ELEANOR CATRON GOODMAN, age 91, widow of A.H. "Pete" Goodman, died Wednesday, July 27 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Virginia.
She was born in Rural Retreat, Virginia to the late James and Josephine Leonard Catron. Eleanor was proud to be a true homemaker and good neighbor. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her long time companion, Pandy.
Eleanor is survived by three daughters, Lynda DeBona of Kingsport, Tennessee, Judith Goodman of Marion, Virginia and Josephine Krucelyak of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; one sister, Mildred Bunting of Longboat Key, Florida; one brother, Kermit Catron of Roanoke, Virginia; six grandchildren, Erica Vega, Robbie Powers, Dennis Perkins, Michelle Leicht, Kim Krucelyak and Andy Krucelyak. Six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
Graveside Services will be held Monday, August 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery with Reverend Neville Mozingo officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
