Marion, Virginia: Elizabeth Harper Smith, age 91, widow of Paul R. Smith, died Sunday, September 10, 2006 at her home in Marion, Virginia. Mrs. Smith was a member of East End Baptist Church for 57 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and excellent cook; however, her greatest love and joy was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Peggy Smith Goodman and Patsy Smith Bales both of Marion, Virginia, Sandra Smith Jurkiewicz and husband, Don, of Toledo, Ohio, and Connie Smith Blevins and husband, Jim, of Chilhowie, Virginia; two sons and daughters-in-law, William D. Smith and wife, Shirley, of Marion, Virginia, and Paul D. Smith and wife, Karen, of Broadway, Virginia; one sister and brother-in-law, Clara Jennings and husband, Vernon, of Roanoke, Virginia; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mike Humfleet officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
